Here are a couple of recent photos from my art studio. I have been working on several paintings this fall. Most of the paintings here are abstract paintings of landscapes.

Completed December 4, 2011. This painting was one that I have struggled with for some months. I wanted to create a piece celebrating the memory of people from in my life who have passed.

In my travels to Mexico I was really inspired by the alters that people created for the
Day of the Dead. This painting started as a skeleton with roses. It didn’t resonate with me. Even though I am deeply moved by art I have seen with such imagery I felt that my depiction was static. Hopefully this piece captures the sentiment of remembrance
and love.

Art Show at Hudson Bay Cafe

I will be hanging a small show of watercolors April 7, 2011 at Hudson Bay Cafe in North Oakland. Framed works and giclee prints will be available. Opening Saturday, April 9th from 8 pm – 10 pm.

This painting was part of a show at Barberella last October. The flower paintings in this show were done in the summer of 2010. They were done as reflections on my garden and of the wealth of beauty that is in such abundance in the natural world.
